Experience

Networking

In my home I run and manage a network of seven to eight computers using both wired and wireless routers. I have several printers and other audio/video equipment installed on it. When installing and expanding this network, I have had to learn how to create custom length network cables and program several different styles of routers.

Digital Video Editing

Currently I have a Samsung Sc-D363 Mini DV Camcorder I use to capture digital video. I then use Microsoft's Movie Maker and Cyberlink's Power Director to edit the video for my blog's. Once edited I upload them to Blip.tv. Blip.tv provides me lots of free bandwidth and unlimited amount of storage space, with out it none of it would get published. This is still a work in progress, but I love to do it as a hobby and at the same time have an archive of what's going on in our family's life. We make the memories, but it nice to capture them for years down the road. These examples below require Windows Media Player 9.0 or greater.

Digital Photography & Online Image Hosting

I have several pieces of equipment I use to capture digital photographs. For high quality images I use my Canon Power Shot A530. This unit is a 5 Mega Pixel point and shoot camera, with a variety of options for different environments. My most frequently used device is my Motorola Q Smart Phone. With this I compile a week or two of captured photos and video and post which I call Phone Media Friday on my blog. I find it funny myself to see what I capture during a week's time.
For my Canon, once I have downloaded to my pc (*Office-Dell Dimension 8400 Pentium 4 3.2 GHZ , 800 MHZ FSB, 1Gig Ram *Notebook-Gateway 4525GZ Pentium M 1.5GHZ 500Meg Ram) I use a variety of imaging hosting sites to store them. My two most used is Fastmail.fm and flickr.com. Fastmail is actually my email provider which happens to offer 2 gigabytes of online storage. Flickr is a service that can be free but with subscription of $25.00 it offers unlimited space and bandwidth. If you click on the examples below you will be taken to my storage space on flickr. Enjoy!
